The popular 2 1/2 hour beach and moorland ride

A popular ride in the summer for the more adventurous, this ride brings you the best of both worlds. Starting your ride at 8.45am with a short hack to Kennack Sands, you visit the beach before any of the bathers are up. After a splash in the sea and a canter across the sand you will venture up to goonhilly downs.

A view of Kennack Sands

Goonhilly Downs is famous for it's satellite earth station, and you will see the huge dishes as you ride up towards the woods, Erissey Barton. After exploring the tracks, carpeted with pine needles, the bridlepath will lead you back to Poltesco Valley Stables.

This ride is not for the faint hearted and includes much trotting and cantering. You must be competent in the canter to tackle this ride.

Two hour moorland hacks

There are a number of routes we can take you on if you wish to take a two hour hack on the moor. Our experienced ride escorts have a number of routes to offer, exploring Predannack downs, Erissey Barton woods and Kynance.

Three hour moorland hacks

Route one: Kynance Cove

If its a ride with a view you're after, Kynance certainly offers that......

One of our three hour hacks allows you to enjoy seeing the coastline in your favourite way. This ride does not visit the beach, but explores the moorland surrounding Kynance Cove, taking a big loop around the area. There are breathtaking views as you can see from the photos overlooking the famous Kynance Cove and surrounding coastline. This is not restricted to beach riding times and can be enjoyed at times to suit your needs.

Route two: Pollurian Cove

The second of our three hour rides usually goes out in the evening, at 5 o'clock. Soak up the last of the days sun as you venture out towards neighbouring village Mullion. This route takes you across Predannack Downs, you will ride across Pollurian beach and take a loop back home. There will be several opportunities to canter and also take a splash in the sea.
